Estimating the size of a PCR product on an agarose gel is important in determining whether the correct amplicon was obtained. In addition, knowing the size of resulting bands from a restriction enzyme digest is essential in gene cloning experiments. Therefore, an accurate molecular weight marker needs to be run concurrently with samples of interest on each gel.
BioChain offers DNA ladder markers of two different size ranges:
- 1 kb ladder – comprises 10 DNA bands ranging in size from 0.5 to 10 kb.
- 100-bp ladder – comprises 15 DNA bands ranging in size from 75 to 3000 bp
These products have easily distinguishable patterns with enhanced intensities of certain bands to ensure easy reading on the gel.
