Product Description

HPV infection has been reported to correlate with several cancer types, especially squamous cell carcinomas. HPVs are classified by genotype, and at least 130 types have been identified by sequencing the gene encoding the major capsid protein L1. High-risk genotypes 16 and 18 are associated with 70% of cervical and ~ 80% HPV positive cases are related to vulval and vaginal carcinoma. Targeting high-risk HPV mRNA from the E6/E7 oncogenes is essential for development of cervical cancer. Using Diacarta’s QuantiVirus™ HPV E6/E7 RNA test, BioChain offers HPV-characterized H&N and cervix squamous cell carcinoma tissue sections from various donors as control. Both positive and negative samples are available.
