LDH Cytotoxicity Assay Kit
Components in this kit are prepared with pure chemicals according to our proprietary technology. BioChain’s LDH Cytotoxicity Assay Kit enables to measure the cytotoxicity with colorimetric assay and based on based on the measurement of activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) released from damaged cells. The procedures are simple, fast, sensitive and accurate. One kit is consisted of reagents enough for performing 400 assays.
BioChain’s LDH cytotoxicity assay kit is designed to be a fast, accurate, and easy to use method to screen for cell death in cultured cells. These are assayed by the quantification of plasma membrane damage through the measurement of cytoplasmic enzyme activity released from dead cells. The amount of enzyme activity correlates to the proportion of dead cells. BioChain’s LDH Cytotoxicity Assay kit uses a colorimetric assay that quantitatively measures lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). Released LDH in culture supernatants is measured with a 20-minute coupled enzymatic reaction: LDH oxidizes lactate to pyruvate which then reacts with tetrazolium salt INT to form formazan. The increase in the amount of formazan produced in culture supernatant directly correlates to the increase in the number of lysed cells. The formazan dye is water-soluble and can be measured by 490 nm absorbance using a standard ELISA plate reader.
For over twenty years BioChain has been known as a top supplier of cells, tissues and other biological samples for the biopharma and research communities. As we’ve grown, we’ve provided additional tools to support the research performed with our biological materials. Our reputation comes from the fact that we make it a priority provide high quality specimens and assay kits that are precise, accurate, and have simple protocols.
What Is An LDH Cytotoxicity Assay Kit Use For?
A cytotoxicity assay kit is used to measure LDH that is released from damaged cells. Data from the measurement of cytotoxic effects of cytotoxic and cytostatic compounds, such as anti-cancer drugs and many other toxic drugs, can then be used to help in the development of drug targets identified through a better understanding of genomics and proteomics. This is a vital step in the development of a wide range of drugs, that collectively enhance and protest the lives of all of us. It is vitally important that the LDH measurement is accurate. We make it our priority to provide tools that make it easy to obtain accurate, reliable results.
What Are The Advantages Of An LDH Cytoxicity Kit From BioChain?
Our LDH Cytotoxicity kit is safe. No radioactive isotopes are used in the procedure. The protocol has been streamlined in order to make it simple. You just add solutions to the cells, incubate and read the absorbance. Additionally, the entire assay is performed in one microtiter plate, with no washing and cell harvesting. The kit generates data quickly, with a short reaction time and no centrifugation required. Since absorbance strongly correlates the number of lysed cells, the results are accurate and reproducible. Our chemistry is also more sensitive than alkaline and acid phosphatase-based assays. Lastly, the simplicity of this assay makes it easy to automate for high-throughput drug screening.
The LDH cytotoxicity kit from BioChain comes with all of the reagents that you need, as well as detailed and easy to follow instructions on how to use the kit. Because the overall physiological functions of a larger organism can be determined in many cases by observing it at the cellular level, it’s possible to conduct far more cost effective research. Not only are small cell samples easier to care for than whole organisms, they also give a laboratory the ability to conduct multiple lines of research at the same time. So if one avenue closes, there are other avenues that may yet yield the results you are looking for.
