RNA has not been widely used as biomarkers in diagnosis of breast cancer compared to immuno-detection of specific serum proteins, however, with advances in RNA detection technologies and in breast cancer research, increasing number of breast cancer-associated molecules are being discovered, and may provide highly sensitive diagnostic tools in the near future.
