Introduction to RNA Markers
Many disease tissues (e.g., cancer) have altered gene expression profiles. Rapid development in quantitative RT-PCR technologies has enabled accurate detection of mRNA in very small amount. Changes in specific mRNA levels may be detected in patients' plasma, suggesting a particular disease status. Abnormal mRNA expression may also be detected in biopsies of the disease tissues, to help determine and predict development of the disease. Biochain's primers are designed to detect these RNA biomarkers of important diseases with great specificity and sensitivity.
