Protein Extraction
and Purification
Protein purification is a series of
processes intended to isolate a single type of
protein from a complex mixture.
Proteins from tissue samples need to be extracted
efficiently and without degradation to make the best
use of a limited resource and to ensure, as much as
possible, that an accurate representation of the
proteins in the living tissue is obtained. BioChain
has optimized techniques that make possible studies
of many proteins simultaneously. The extracted
proteins can by analyze for two major areas: 1)
identification and quantitation studies and 2)
functional studies, including enzymatic assays and
binding studies.

Total Protein Extraction Kit
BioChain’s total protein extraction kit is an excellent tool
for the initial purification and preparation of proteins
from any tissues and cells. Total protein isolated by this
kit is native and can be used for downstream applications
including SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, gel mobility shift,
protein assays and other procedures. The kit is easy to use:
no scraping, no freeze-thaw cycles, and no sonication. |
Subcellular Protein Extraction Kit
Components in these kits are prepared with pure chemicals
according to our proprietary technology. Designed for use
with BioChain?s MicroRNA qRT-PCR primer sets (miR-24 or
miR-16 primer set), the MicroRNA Detection Kit provides a
one-step, simple, robust, inexpensive assay for detection
and quantitative analysis of microRNA expression from total
RNA samples, or small RNAs enriched samples in DNA with
intercalated format. |
Mitochondria Isolation Kit
Mitochondria are the eukaryotic subcellular organelle which
contains the enzymes of the citric acid cycle, the electron
transport chain, and oxidative phosphorylation. As new
discoveries of human disorders are being related to
mitochondrial dysfunction, there is an increasing need for
an effective method to isolate intact mitochondria from
tissues and cultured cells. The key steps when isolating
mitochondria from any tissue or cell are always the same: (i)
rupturing of cells by mechanical and/or chemical means and
(ii) differential centrifugation at low speed to remove
debris and extremely large cellular organelles followed by
centrifugation at a higher speed to isolate mitochondria
which are collected. Biochain's Mitochondria Isolation Kit
can be used for not only intact mitochondria isolation, but
also mitochondria protein extraction. |
